Gyokusen studied painting with his father and later he helped found the Kyōto Prefectural School of Painting. His art includes the ten paintings of flowers and (or) birds shown in this gallery, drawn in the nihonga style. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Gyokusen also published some of his art in picture books.
